...When people arbitrarily say no for something that literally would not be any hair off their back and would help promote a small fest, just because I'm not willing to pretend to be just like them right now.
Hello all.  So I've never been overly impressed with Live Journals and never really had a need of one.  But I figure if I'm going to be posting any more to the Best Enemies anon meme, I might as well just have a journal with which to occasionally do things with.

Click here for the basic FAQ )
I've decided to be magnanimous and give you guys a quick reference to any and all fics you might want to find for those of you who are too lazy to find it by tag.  They are listed by series.  Remember, all roleplay entries are friends locked. I should mention that this list is usually up to date.  I think I've managed to keep it up long enough that I can promise this will usually be a complete list of everything I've put on LJ.   Also, unless otherwise stated, all fics are PG-13 or G.  Still, most of the fics have other warnings, so read those to be on the safe side.

On with the list )
The King and the Dragon
By: Memory Dragon
Disclaimer: I do not own the Avengers movie-verse, nor do I make any claim to.
Characters: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Rhodey, Natasha Romanov, Pepper Potts, Bruce Banner
Warnings: Major Character death is the big one on this fic, and you can check the end notes if you're squeamish and want some spoilers.  It does have a happy ending though, and I promise only those characters in the end notes die no matter what else the fic makes you think.  Some dubious consented body changes (he agreed, but didn't realize all of what he was agreeing to), but no maiming or anything like that.  Fair warning that I took a lot of inspiration from Clamp, and I hope I did them proud.
Rating: PG 13
Summary: After a big fight with Tony, Steve has gone missing. The last thing Tony needs when he should be looking for the leader of the Avengers is to be transported into a dark fairy tale to fight a dragon with a kingly version of Steve. But there are things that the King isn't telling him, and the dragon's eye is a familiar shade of blue...
Thanks:  Many thanks to Narwhale_callin for betaing and Salmastyron for double checking my 616 facts. Also a great many thanks to my two extremely talented artists, neera_pendragon and fictionforlife! They've been amazing to work with, and I'm so lucky to be paired with two such amazing artists this year!
Notes: This fic came about because someone told me that I couldn't do worse than the Unicorn in Untameable, then threw my own prompt about Steve and Tony raising a baby dragon back at me.  And, well, I'm never one to back down from a challenge.  I have it on good authority this is way worse than the Unicorn.  XD  Also, it has been a life-long dream of mine to be as sadistic as Clamp.  I like to think I made a decent attempt with this fic.  I'm not sorry.  At all.

Most importantly, this fic was written for the cap_ironman 2014 Big Bang. As stated above, I had the great pleasure of working with two very awesome artists. Please make sure to check out the art they did for this fic, because it's fantastic! You can find fictionforlife's work here 1 2 3 4, and a master post here on tumblr. (3 and 4 are slightly spoiler-y), and neera_pendragon's here on ao3 and 1 2 3 on tumblr!
A small note about Tony's phrasing: Shakespeare and the medieval period are two completely different time periods.  Please do not believe Tony.  You have no idea how incredibly painful it was for me to write that part, but it's a very Tony thing for him to say, so I went with it.  The things I do for characterization.  Bad Tony!  Get your time periods right!

"It wasn't your fault." )
A Glimpse of a Butterfly
By: Memory Dragon
Disclaimer: I do not own the Avengers movie-verse, nor do I make any claim to.
Characters: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Happy Hogan
Warnings: It's tooth rotting fluff.  That's about it.  Also a bit of unwanted groping goes on, but Cap can take care of himself and knows how to deal with someone who is trying to inappropriately touch him.
Rating: PG 13
Summary: After one of the guests at a charity event gets a little too handsy, Steve heads to the gardens to get a breath of fresh air.  He's surprised by what he sees there.
Thanks:  Many thanks to Salma and Whizzy for betaing.  Also thanks to everyone who puts up with my random posting on tumblr.  I'm not sure how you do it without a liberal use of blacklisting, but hey.  This one's for you guys.
Notes: So I hit a milestone of followers and figured I'd write a short bit of fluff to thank everyone for following.  This is the result.
Steve wondered how anyone thought he was a prude when someone in her sixities had this level of shamelessness. )
The Fall of Binary Stars
By: Memory Dragon
Disclaimer: I do not own the Avengers movie-verse, nor do I make any claim to.  Also, I may have stolen a lot of things from Babylon 5, but absolutely no knowledge about B5 is necessary to read this.  I just made a heck of a lot of references since I'm kind of half-stealing a plot thread from it.
Characters: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, OFCs, OMCs
Warnings: Kind of, sort major character death that doesn't quite get better but isn't quite dead either?  Yeah, it's complicated (as in huge spoilers), but complicated with a happy ending.  Just realize there are some (non-overly gory) descriptions of death in here.  There's also some kind of assisted suicide that doesn't take and one case of briefly mentioned actual suicide.  Seriously, just go with it.  Check the spoilers at the end if you need to, but I don't recommend it.
Rating: PG 13
Summary: The last thing Steve Rogers wanted was to wake up to find he'd lost not seventy years, but 235 years this time.  Just when he was getting his life together, he has to start over again.

Or does he?
Thanks: Many thanks as always to [livejournal.com profile] narwhale_callin, even if I did kill her with one part of the angst, and then again with one part of the fluff.  Also thanks to Cameron_McKell for giving me a plot to twist to my own purposes.
Notes:  Hi.  So like, absolutely no one is actually going to read this since it's Steve Rogers surrounded in a sea of OCs, but hey.  One can dream, right?

This was written for a prompt on the cap-im: Fifty Years of Captain America and Iron Man meme.  It does not quite follow the prompt, because I'm worse than a genie with twisting prompts to suit my own purposes.  Basically, I read the prompt, then had a Babylon 5 epiphany, and ran with it.  Let me repeat, you do not need to know anything about B5 for this.  I just stole a plot line because it worked so extremely well.  I've linked the prompt at the end, since it is spoiler-y in nature, even if not entirely truthful to where I've taken the fic.

Also, there are OCs.  The nature of the story kind of requires them, since Steve wakes up by his lonesome 235 years in the future.  And if anyone is still reading who hasn't been scared off by the letters 'OC' then hopefully you will enjoy them.

Finally, if you won't take my word on the fact that it has a happy ending of 5k of unredeemable fluff, you can find complete spoilers in the end notes.  I (or rather, my Beta, who emphatically said I should try not to ruin anything) do not recommend this as it completely spoils the story, but it's there if you need it.  If possible, I'd suggest getting a friend to read it and tell you if you'd like it.

No Black and White in the Blue
By: Memory Dragon
Disclaimer: I do not own the Avengers movie-verse or Marvel Ultimates, nor do I make any claim to. Also don't own the song 'Blue' by Mai Yamane/Yoko Cano, from which I've stolen the title.
Characters: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Natasha Romanov/Ults Tony Stark, slight Tony/Tony, Clint Barton, Thor, Bruce Banner, Rhodey, Pepper Potts, Ults Steve
Warnings: Please note Ults Tony Stark is a self-professed higher functioning alcoholic. According to canon he's also had a few suicide attempts, and he does think about and doesn't quite care as much as he should about some of the fatal consequences of drinking too much. Keep that in mind, if you are unfamiliar with Ults and this is a problem for you. Also, there's a lot of talk about grief and the (off-screen) death of a child. The child's death was a little on the gruesome side, but there are no real descriptions of the event. Again, just take into consideration your own comfort levels. Finally, this fic was written in order to kill iloome through feels. That stated, there are a lot of feels. Really, a lot. I'm told they're pretty effective. Don't say I didn't warn you if you become collateral damage.
Rating: PG 13
Summary:Anthony Stark just wants to drink and contemplate his failures in peace. Unfortunately, Antonio Stark chose just that moment to appear. Now Tony has to deal with an alternate version of himself, the tension between him and Steve, and the differences between the dimensions on top of everything else.

But the biggest monster maybe too much for even two Tonys to stop...
Thanks: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] salmastryon and [livejournal.com profile] narwhale_callin for the betaing.  Also thanks to actionfan, Salmastryon, and iloome for commenting on the last chapter.  It was apparently not a well beloved chapter, but hey.  You win some and you lose some, right?  Also many thanks to those who have been reading from the beginning, and those who have just started.
Notes: So I apologize for this being late.  This has not been a good week.  I don't know why I thought anything in China would actually go smoothly.  It was to the point where I had to decide between rushing a post and adding more stress to my life, or waiting on it and posting when I could actually enjoy things.  I chose the latter.  I do have a new apartment though, and hot water.  Hot water is important.  I have to say, I'm not missing the roommates who smoke.

Anyway, I'm sure you care less about my life sucking recently, and more about the final chapter.  It was a long road, and I'm still not entirely sure I like how the ending turned out, but it is here at last.

Thanks: Many thanks to narwhale_callin and salmastryon for the beta.  Also thanks to hogwartshoney, Enmuse (Scifiroots), actionfan, kuhekabir, iloome, and CatChan for being kind enough to leave reviews.
Notes: So let me start off by saying there's a new tag.  It was brought to my attention that I didn't tag for the slight victim blaming in a previous chapter, and it is now marked properly.  The character in question is aware that they are doing it because they don't want to think of what is probably closer to the truth, but it's still there.  I apologize for any triggering this might have caused, but it's a long fic and I don't always remember everything that goes into it, especially when it's one of the more minor part of the things that go into a long fic.

Also, can I just say that life really sucks for posting at the moment?  If I don't respond to you immediately, please realize I'm working full time, looking for a new apartment, preparing for the move that has to be done within ten days, and generally trying to sort through life right now.  I currently see no problems with updating on time next week, but it'll also be updating in the midst of moving (provided I've even found an apartment by that time.  >.< ) so if it's late, I apologize.  I do promise you will get the last chapter however.  This fic will not be left unfinished.  I've got a pretty big track record that you can see by looking through my other fics when it comes to finishing fics, and I don't post what I haven't already finished.  So if it does come late, don't worry about it never being finished.

Notes: Okay, so there's more suicide idealization and talk of the effects of alcohol in this chapter, so be prepared for that.  Also, there's a lot of hand-wavy medical science and talk of nanites.  Which, I'm pretty sure the comic book writers don't know what the nanites do, so I'm just taking that as my leave to make stuff up as I go along.  Finally, there is angst in the chapter.  Lots of angst.  Don't say I didn't warn you.

Thanks: Thanks as always to Nar, for pointing out I have an almost sex scene that I keep forgetting. Also thanks to Salma, for pointing out things that needed fixing in this chapter. And thanks to iloome, ladedanixie, fujimore, actionfan, hogwartshoney, krusca, Bibli, Turtle, and be_mine for reviewing the last chapter. I always appreciate comments!
Notes: Okay, so first things first. Posting on Mondays sucks, so I won't be doing this anymore. Sorry iloome, but the next update is going to have to be Thursday. It will end up being Wednesday night for most of you, but I just can't do Mondays any more.

Now on to notes for the fic itself... So like, I keep forgetting that there's an almost sex scene in this chapter. -_-;;; It's two paragraphs and nothing much happens, but I wonder if I should up the rating? At least before I completely forget about it again. Speaking of the almost sex, it's potentially dub-con in nature due to a flashback that halts it. It is stopped immediately once the flashback hits. I'm not sure if that would be enough to count as dub-con, but if it is, let me know.

This is also the chapter I did some drunk writing in. You can tell, because Rhodey was not supposed to be part of this fic. A bit of Vodka, and Rhodey decides to take over. Why do you do this to me, Rhodey? You just made the fic longer.

Finally, this is my one cliff hanger of the fic. And yes, I'm totally a bitch for making you wait a couple days longer than normal for the resolution of it, but damn it, updating on Mondays sucks. So. Just keep that in mind.

That said, I hope you enjoy and have a happy Easter!

Thanks: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] narwhale_callin for betaing and flailing, and to [livejournal.com profile] salmastryon for making this chapter end in such an angsty spot.  Also, since I've got a non-ideal work schedule for proper posting and I didn't much time for posting last week, thanks to szzzt, 69pineapples, katharienne, AvocadoLove, hogwartshoney, and kerravon for commenting on chapter one.  Also thanks to actionfan and Michelle for commenting on chapter two.  And many, many thanks to quandong_crumble and iloome for commenting on both chapters, cause who doesn't love return commenters?  XD
Notes: So here is where the Angst finally starts picking up at the end of the chapter!  Not like there wasn't angst before, but now I can stop feeling guilty about not delivering the proper amount of angst that I've been promising.  Fair warning, it really does only get worse from here...  Also, this is the chapter with the OC and the major angst concerning a child's death happens.  So read with caution, if this is a thing for you.

Notes: And here is Chapter Two.  Looks like you'll be getting it on Monday for at least another week, since a trip to Hong Kong will keep me busy for the rest of it.  Anyway, here is the start of the angsty. It only gets worse from here.  Also, there are random Steve feels.  I did not plan on Steve feels going into this, but they happened anyway.  I suppose I should stop being surprised by Steve feels worming their way in.

Thanks: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] narwhale_callin, who puts up with me sending her 50k of fic with a deadline. Also many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] salmastryon for reading it as well and making sure it's Evil enough.
Notes: They say revenge is a dish best served cold. This dish has been cooling for a while now. iloome, this one is for you. XD I won't go into the sordid details, but let it suffice to say that most people have been cheering me on due to how many Tonys she's killed. I am merely the deliverance of fate.

Anyway, I haven't seen an Ults/MCU crossover, so I figured it was about time the world had one. If you are unfamiliar with Ultimates, you really don't need to know much. None of the POVs are from Ults Tony, so all relevant information is new to MCU characters as well. However, there are spoilers up to Cataclysm (I wrote this before I read Cataclysm). This is set in a pocket dimension of time before Cataclysm, or an alt universe where everyone survives. I prefer to think it's the latter, but I'll leave it up to you to decide. Also, there are no spoilers for Cap 2, or really any of phase two (if I caught all the details I kept trying to add from IM3 and Thor 2) movie. I needed the arc reactor for angst. It happens.

The fic itself is around 50k and will be in seven chapters. I will update once a week, though I reserve the right to change the day from Monday to Wednesday if that ends up being an easier day for me. My work schedule changes every week, so posting times may be a bit hectic, but I promise this fic is finished and you will get an ending that is happy. Not that iloome will survive to get to the happy ending, but I imagine death by feels is not one of the worst ways to go.

Please enjoy!

A while back, a friend of mine asked if women really needed female superheroes.  This question both surprised and disturbed me, since he’s usually a pretty sensitive white guy.  He had never even considered that women or someone in a minority might want someone who is like them as a role model.  We had a long discussion and he saw things in a new light, but the question stayed with me.
