Warnings: Oh, boy, lots of warnings. First of all, a trigger warning for talks of peer pressure and convincing someone to have sex when they don't want it, but no actual unwanted sex. That out of the way, there are also sexy tech-boner funtimes (aka, no sex, but lots of Stark innuendo), warm fuzzies and sappy endings, sometimes (but not always) fatally maiming of mythical creatures, unicorn mind-melded induced cuddles, non-unicorn mind-melded induced cuddles, Tony Stark being a complete and total cuddle whore with team player issues that he still insists he has, and some maiming, both physical and mental, of the aforementioned physical affection addict, though nothing that won't heal. Also, no where near as much crack as all of that makes it sound.
Rating: PG-13, for comic book level violence and peer pressure triggers.
Summary: What do dragons, unicorns, and a genius billionaire in the midst of an empathy-attack have in common? They all want Steve Rogers, apparently. Who knew?

Notes: I've noticed something in fandom. There are only two ways of dealing with Steve Rogers' virginity: A) Virginity kink, or B) he's not as virginal as everyone thinks. Which is fine, really, and I've seen a few fics where his partner is willing to wait until he's ready for sex, and that's fantastic. I don't mind other people enjoying sex and/or wanting to write and read about it. Go for it, if that's your thing! But as a someone in her late 20's who is still a virgin and plans to remain that way until there's a ring on her finger? I kinda wanted a third option: a fic that wasn't geared to the eventual deflowering of Captain America like pretty much every other fic and media portrayal out there. I wanted a fic where he decided he was going to wait for the right partner, and being a virgin or living a celibate life style was perfectly acceptable and okay. And as I couldn't find a fic like that when there's finally a media produced character who doesn't consider being a virgin to be a bad thing, I decided to write one. Because that's how I roll.
So this is a gen fic where it's not only okay to enjoy sex (which Tony most definitely does, thanks), but it's also okay to appreciate the choice of someone who wishes to remain celibate. Neither choices are glorified or put down, because I'm not here to preach at you. But they are both simple choices that should be seen as acceptable by the people around them, and the latter isn't always a 'problem' that some of us want fixed.
Also, dragons happen. And unicorns happen. And Tony Stark is so awesome that he doesn't need to happen, he just pushes his way into fic and makes me write things his way. So hopefully, you'll enjoy the ride.

Notes: You know, considering I've been playing Tales games for over ten years, it's kind of surprising that this is my first fic for the fandoms. Never really felt the need to write any, to be honest. However, while reading fic for this fandom, a pet peeve of mine jumped front and center and my mind decided it's been far too long since I've written protest fic. Not to say this fandom is particularly filled with this problem (it was a single case, and all fandoms have at least one case of this), but the fic that finally annoyed me enough to do something about it was a Vesperia fic. Which is how I've ended up writing a fic for characters I don't even technically ship romantically and a character I didn't actually like or dislike either way, with cuteness even I don't know what to do with. Plus Repede, because Repede really is just awesome.
In short, this fic is to show that characters A and B can get together without character C ruining their relationship and being bashed to high heaven. Character C can even occasionally help in the getting of A and B together without being OOC or demeaned. The fic kind of took on a life of its own, so I'm not sure how much protest is actually in there, but this is a fic that deals with the characters' Issues while being respectful to all of them. Because no matter how much you dislike a character, there's someone else out there likes them, and it's nice to be respectful and acknowledge that.
Thanks: Many, many thanks tonarwhale_callin for betaing this, despite never having played the game. She helped me tighten this up, find a title, and generally sat through me sending her videos of cutscenes to catch her up on major plot points. Many thanks to nemaline as well, who also hasn't played the game but was willing to look it over in my search for a title.

For the One You Love: Chapter 1
Feb. 1st, 2011 03:42 pmYeah, yeah. More Gundam Wing. They're just fun little characters to torment, I guess. Anyway, this is another chapter fic, and not one of my better ones to be honest... But it's fun, which makes all the difference. Also, it's angsty. XD Fair warning, it's not the best organized fic out there either. It started out as a one shot that evolved into a multi-chapter fic of loosely related one-shots and then got a over reaching plot. Also, around chapter two I get a really weird format of half Duo first person point of view with third person everyone else. In short... I wasn't really thinking when mapping out a narrative and forgive accordingly? I did mention it was fun regardless of it's faults, right? <3
Also, I should mention something about pairings of this fic. In Gundam Wing fandom back in the day (who knows, maybe still now) there was a huge divide. You either liked slash pairings or non-slash pairings and there was no inbetween or happy medium. Roughly everyone on one side of the fence was rather scornful of the others due to polarizing characters that you either loved or hated accordingly.
This fic was written with the sole purpose of pissing everyone off. I wanted flames and death threats and all that fun stuff. In this, I failed miserably, since everyone seemed to like it too darn much. I think I got one whiny little threat that barely even managed to sound vaguely threatening ( I believe it went something like "Heero needs to be happy or else..." ). However, I did manage to get followers from both sides of the fence, all of which (slash and non-slash fans alike) adored this fic and wanted to see it through to the end. I also set a good example on not bashing hated characters. I may not like Relena, but my characterization of her in the later bits of the fic (when I finally got up the courage to attempt writing her) got compliments from both Relena fans (saying I treated her very well and characterized her perfectly) and Relena haters (saying that I made her standable and actually an enjoyable character). So over all the fic was a decent success, despite my original goal failing completely.
As for the pairings, the basic plot is that Duo is in love with Heero, and Heero is straight and married to Relena. At no point during the course of this fic will that fact change. So, if you want a sappy love story that randomly kills Relena off and Heero goes running into Duo's arms, look elsewhere. Happy romance is not currently in my vocabulary. That does not mean happy ending is not part of my vocabulary, but Duo's love will remain unrequited for the entire fic. Because really, that's a bit more realistic than everyone being non-slash or slashy, but that's just me.
