Gems of Memory

I never actually expected that to happen. No, seriously.  It's one thing to write a crappy fic that one completely despises about a random happenstance that is coincidental and probably impossible.  It's quite another to have it actually happen to one's self almost ten years after said fic was written.  That's just weird.

Okay, let me explain.  The medicine that the doctor gave me for my bronchitis is really bitter.  And since I have to dissolve it in hot water and then drink it, that's a lot of bitter to take in.  The after taste takes forever to get out of your mouth too.  So I figured out that a spoon full of sugar really does make the medicine go down.  Or, at least, covers up the after taste.  Basically, I've been buying M&M's to get rid of the taste.  It's been working pretty well so far.

Except tonight, when I'm eating my post-medicine snack, I noticed something strange.  I noticed it, since I look every single time anyway due to sorting out my M&M's into their separate colors. Yes, just because I hate that fic doesn't mean I don't eat my M&M's that way every time.  Hush.

The thing is, there was only one green M&M.

Not even a different color.  No, it was the single, solitary green M&M.  It wasn't chipped, which really, that would have been too creepy.  I still felt like telling it all about how much my life has sucked recently, because THAT'S TOTALLY WHAT YOU DO TO SOLITARY GREEN M&M'S.

Maybe that means things will start getting better soon.  It worked for Hisoka after his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.  It should work for Mem after her terrible, horrible, no good, very bad time dealing with TTC.  Sadly, there will be no Tsuzuki to give me a hug and pep talk.  I feel bereft.

I did tell it that it was a special M&M and everyone loved it before I ate it so it could join its friends in my stomach.  Because one should never be alone in a crowd.

Yes, I really am that crazy.  But that's okay, you guys love me anyway.
